Hannah Arendt witnessed the banality of evil at Nuremberg, and it’s only mild hyperbole to think her head might explode at witnessing the rise of ‘content’ through the lexicon. A seemingly harmless buzzword of 2019 signifying all audio-visual material, it points to a worrying trend with implications for art, politics, and reality.
